Winfield Mind Zone

I wrote this song at Winfield in 2005. It got me started that year. I wrote six songs in six days counting this one. I finally got it recorded, so that I can send it to the Walnut Valley Festival New Song Showcase.

I'm moving to, a different mind zone
No more work, at the digital grindstone
I'm getting in tune, to a Winfield mind zone
All I need is a good guitar tone

Chorus
Unpack my stress bag
Shake off my fret lag
Settle into my new home
Write myself a new poem
And fly my mind away

You never know, who you might meet
Or find a big jam in the middle of the street
And though the party may ebb and flow
You'll find a big smile wherever you go

Chorus

There's only one place that I ever really lived
So when I die, and my bones grow stiff
Won't you please, take this oath
Bury my bones in the Pecan Grove

Chorus

You know the third Sunday comes way too fast
I wish there was a way to make it last
But I don't think there's anything wrong
With stayin in the zone the whole year long

Just don't pack your stress bag
Don't gather fret lag
Be settled in your old home
Keep writing new poems
And fly your mind away

I'll fly away, I'll fly away
I'm getting in tune to the Winfield mind zone
All I need is a good guitar tone

Like the wristband says, there's a void when removed

Jim,
Love the one you did for Tommy's b-day and this one really says it all about Winfield. Take care. rkj
