Winfield 2007
RecordingsAt the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS for 2007 I decided to write songs, and get them recorded and posted on the internet as soon as possible. So, links below will link to these songs written and recorded during my time in Winfield.
These are just rough recordings. I recorded and published as quickly as possible. No fancy editing, overdubbing, or mastering. These are raw. Please keep this in mind as you evaluate these songs.
You Used to Take My Breath Away
How Can I Miss You
You Don't Own Me
Collage of Disillusion
Submitted by jim on Sat, 2008-01-12 23:16.This song is from my 1987 Christmas tape. I just recovered it from a 20 year old cassette tape recording. Hope it sounds OK. I did't realize how long a song it was until I saw it in digital form. Enjoy.
Intro
I'm happy your happy we're happy too
I talk and talk and talk to you
I don't know why I can't get through to you
Drone on A with punches
A verses
I lay my heart out on my sleeve
Then sit back and watch it bleed
I say these words but I don't know why
Cause you don't care, don't even try
transition
Listen to your self just once and be convinced
You're saying lots of words but they don't make sense
You Don't Own Me
Submitted by jim on Sat, 2007-09-08 13:54.Hopefully, this song is vague enough that it can be about anything that you feel it's about. Whatever you feel controls you, that you want to get away from.

You Used To Take My Breath Away
Submitted by jim on Sat, 2007-09-08 13:08.I heard a comedian on the radio say "You have to frame things right. You should say 'Darling you take my breath away, not you suck the life out of me'" I thought that was a hoot and had to write a song based on the idea.
